2022 Dealer Catalog

Recently I was given the opportunity to lead the development and design of the 2022 Dealer Catalog for the entire Connelly Skis product line. In this catalog I am responsible for its cover art, page design, and construction diagrams. This project also required me to cooperate with multiple different departments to deliberate over feedback and obtain product info.

Developement

Notes

Before starting concepts on the page layout I made a detailed list of things I thought could be improved upon from previous years. These are some of the key things I noted: Previously the catalog had multiple different types of diagrams (Illustrated, CGI, and photographic) and I wanted to make sure to use a similar style for all the diagrams. Each product has a lot of info and some of it is redundant, as an example some of the product features are listed in the copy as well as represented by an icon; this results in smaller fonts, smaller product images, and a constricted layout. I also wanted to add and restructure some of the product specification info to give the customer a better understanding of each individual product. As you look through my concepts and final product you’ll notice some of these ideas get refined and some get left behind.

Final

Page Layout

This is a collection of all the unique page layouts within the 2022 catalog. There is a healthy mixture of product pages as well as tech pages that explain the features of our products. Some of my favorite things about the final product include: its cohesive design, the CGI construction diagrams, the new “attributes” portion on product pages, new product layout for vests, and added size charts for boots and vests.

Construction Diagrams

I created all of the construction diagrams in the 2022 Catalog using the 3D software Blender. I used a mixture of hard-surface modeling and sculpting, created UV maps and textures, lit the scene, rendered final images, and made minimal edits in Photoshop. I love working with 3D software and I’m constantly striving to better my skills and incorporate it into my work.
